IRO's mission is to support the activities of the West University of Timisoara (WUT), oriented towards the achievement of the strategic goal of internationalization of the University, as a renowned institution of higher education and research, at a Regional, National, European and Global level. The Department of International Relations at the West University of Timişoara provides institutional support and information for students, academic and administrative staff in terms of mobility and international cooperation.

IRO’s objectives complies with the West University of Timişoara’s international cooperation policy ensures the development and implementation of the West University of Timişoara’s Strategy of Internationalization as a multi- and inter- disciplinary institution of higher education;

  • ensures the development and management of a Portfolio of Strategic International Partners, which will become collaborators in International Cooperation Projects in higher education;
  • ensures the implementation of international mobility programs for students, academic and administrative staff within the European Union, European Economic Area and EU third member countries, as well as increasing the number of beneficiaries of these programs;
  • increasing the number of international students studying in WUT (mobility or a full course of study);
  • ensures the development of West University of Timişoara’s faculties regarding the international services provided: foreign language study programs, double degree programs, engaging international lecturers, organizing admission for foreign students, organizing international events, the development and implementation of Cooperation Projects with International Partners.
